Chris Delia Stables is a full-service 'A' circuit show barn specializing in equitation and jumpers. The farm is centrally located to Mississauga, Oakville, Milton, Hamilton and Guelph and is situated on 200 beautiful acres at the prestigious Kelynack Farms estate in North Burlington.
CDS is currently accepting students and horses at all levels who wish to compete on the 'A' circuit and we always have a selection of nice hunters and jumpers for sale or lease from Child/Adult to Grand Prix.
Olympian and veteran team rider Chris Delia has been producing champion horses and riders on Ontario's 'A' circuit for over 20 years. His articulate and patient coaching style brings out confidence in all his students. They consistently find themselves in the winner's circle and many have gone on to become Provincial and National champions as well as Palm Beach Circuit champions.
His experience as a top grand prix rider combined with his formal education in equitation and dressage has given him a well-rounded knowledge of horsemanship, which is reflected in all his students.
As a junior, Chris spent much of his time in the USA training and competing in the Equitation division. He worked with such legendary names as Missy Clarke, George Morris, Ronnie Mutch, Geoff Teall, Tim Kees, Michael Matz, and Jeffery Welles. While in Canada, he trained and competed in the jumpers with Torchy Millar, one of Canada's most respected horsemen and former Chef d'Equipe of the Canadian Equestrian Team. After a successful equitation and junior jumper career Chris focused on advancing to the Grand Prix ring.
By age 24, he had gone on to become the Canadian World Cup League Champion and was named to the Olympic Team. Around that time, he met his future wife Candice, who was an accomplished dressage rider and introduced him to the world of dressage. Within a few years of intensive training, Chris' approach with horses was transformed and his training system found a whole new level of sophistication. This strong focus on flatwork together with advanced equitation training and years of experience now form the basis of Chris' jumping program today.
Chris is always searching for his next International World Cup mount and welcomes investors and sponsors interested in getting involved. If you are interested in our investment and/or sponsorship opportunities, please do not hesitate to contact us.
"I first joined the program in 2013 at 17 years of age with a specific goal of competing in the 1.40m division after a couple seasons. However, in only one year, I rose from the 1.20m's all the way through to the Canadian 1.40m Jr/Am Jumper Championships on my 8 year old Holsteiner gelding, Calato's Charles (whom I was partnered with for less than one year). This was the first time I had ever competed at the Royal Winter Fair and yet we won the Championships as the youngest pair in the field.
Chris' methods and training philosophy have led to many conceptual breakthroughs for me this past year and I feel I have grown tremendously as a rider in an unbelievably short period of time.
Chris strongly emphasizes the horse-rider relationship and the goal-based program itself is strongly supported by a teamwork ethic - the staff at CDS ensure that horse and rider are given all the individualized care necessary for success.
Based on my overall experience, I would highly recommend CDS to anyone with clear goals in mind, to those who are willing to work hard and have a desire to learn. In this program, no ambition is too unrealistic or unattainable...anything is possible!""
